Chris Hunt

Chris Hunt has worked in Scottish fashion and textiles for over 20 years, under various Governments and many different Factory Execs and industry leaders, through two recessions, the digital revolution and now the Pandemic and Brexit. He founded not-for-profit Glasgow Design Collective in 2005 as a pathway project to support, promote and mentor Scottish designers and artists to help their business development, fundraising to show in London.

After rising costs to show in London, interest from Scottish Government, and appetite from other cities and universities it became Scotland Re:Designed in 2012. Working to support fashion and textiles showcasing, raising sales and investment internationally and annually in Scotland its last assessment ran to results in excess of £10,000,000 impact on the Scots economy.

Additional events and festivals included collaborations with major brands, British Council and the OECD which led to PaisleyMake – which designed and activated the regeneration strategy for Paisley’s textiles collections between 2015-2019. He has authored multiple reports and created campaigns and events for Scottish Enterprise, SDI and Creative Scotland on Scottish fashion and textiles, and has designed, produced and underwritten over 15 years of mentoring, conferences, showcases, events and exhibitions, fundraising for cultural organisations and individuals or small businesses in Scottish fashion and textiles.
